Gauntlet Makes Its Mark With New Southern Office

Leeds-based commercial insurance broker and Appointed Representative principal, Gauntlet, has strengthened its hand in one of its key markets, bus and coach insurance, through a significant new appointment.

 

Former Wrightsure associate director, Mark Monk, has travelled over to the Gauntlet camp, to establish and head-up a southern-based office in Essex, which will handle not just bus and coach insurance, but other types of commercial insurance besides.

 

Mark Monk has become an appointed representative of Gauntlet’s, as well as head of the southern office, and has already started to manage the risks of some of Gauntlet’s clients in the south.  With 30 years’ experience in the sector, Monk represents the high-calibre appointed representative attracted by Gauntlet’s AR model and flexible benefits, which can accommodate high-flyers wanting the next move in their career, in a variety of ways.

 

The establishment of a southern office is a key milestone for Gauntlet, which will celebrate its 25thanniversary in October 2019.  Mark Monk will work from a Gauntlet Hallmark office in Orsett, which will replicate the seamless broking service offered from Gauntlet’s head office in Leeds.  It will also offer Gauntlet’s southern-based clients a superb face-to-face service and tailored approach to their insurance requirements.  

 

Gauntlet Hallmark will extend Gauntlet’s ‘more than a broker’ approach and give Gauntlet deeper market penetration across the home counties and beyond, managed from an office also conveniently located for clients in London.

 

Monk is no stranger to working with numerous large accounts, having handled a portfolio of clients that comprised a book of business worth £1.3m and all key areas of bus and coach insurance at an associate director level.
