New Impetus In Gauntlet Group AR Network Following Inaugural Growth Summit

A supplementary range of Appointed Representative (AR) support mechanisms are currently under development at Gauntlet Group, following qualitative analysis undertaken after the Leeds-based commercial insurance broker and risk manager’s inaugural AR Growth Summit.

The mid-September summit delivered a wealth of information to Gauntlet Appointed Representatives from locations nationwide.  It was arranged following Gauntlet’s analysis of franchise sector messaging, which showed entrepreneurs, representing a network-based organisation, place opportunities to meet with peers, and training and support, at the top of their hierarchy of needs.

The content of the two-day summit included insurer presentations from Willis Group, Aviva and THB supported by presentations from Gauntlet directors and the Group’s marketing agencies.  A bespoke PR and Marketing Guide was launched and presented to ARs as a new resource and there were plenty of networking sessions at which ARs could compare notes and benefit from peer support.

Survey Monkey research discovered a high satisfaction rate with the content and format of the summit, whilst qualitative feedback has already led Gauntlet to start planning its next AR event.

Several of Gauntlet’s ARs left the conference considering a rebrand, having appreciated the power of trading under the Gauntlet name, thanks to its 20-year heritage in the market and strengthened identity, since Gauntlet itself rebranded earlier this year.

Some attendees identified niche insurance segments in which they could trade, with the power of the Gauntlet name and impressive access to market behind them, whilst others picked up, “fresh ideas”, “useful information” and are “already drawing on some of the information supplied.”

Summing all of this up, Appointed Representative, Andrew Stubbs, said: “It was good to meet other ARs, spend some time socially with Gauntlet staff and ARs and, more importantly than that, find out so much more regarding insurers, facilities and additional areas of help and support.”

Gauntlet’s director in charge of the AR network, Paul Coates, said: “Whilst our ARs left the summit educated and motivated, my team also came away with a wealth of ideas when it comes to new tools and initiatives which we can implement to further augment our offering to ARs.  This work is currently in progress and we shall soon be advising our ARs of new services and facilities that can deliver even more benefits than they currently enjoy.

“This has come about through the open and frank dialogue that we had with our ARs at the Growth Summit.  We were there to listen, as well as advise, and by listening we have been inspired to take our Appointed Representative support programme to the next level.”
